Plan of Redemption
“in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time” — Titus 1:2 NIV
Most religions recognize that our planet has been subverted by evil and that some type of divine intervention will either end it, correct it, or re-make it. The promise of the Christian faith, as explained in the Bible, is that Jesus Christ will return for the resurrection of His saints (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17) and the earth with its present order of things will be made new (2 Peter 3:13), including the promise of “no more death or mourning or crying or pain” (Revelation 21:4 NIV).
It may appear as if the evil of this world will go on forever, and that divine help has forgotten about us, but let’s not mistake God’s patience with a delay in plans. Heaven was not without a plan when sin entered the Garden of Eden. Before the earth was formed in creation the plan of redemption was laid, in the event that mankind yielded to Satan’s temptation. Which is exactly what our free-will first parents did.
However, the plan for man’s redemption cannot be hurried nor haphazardly executed without consideration of incorporating all mankind into its good and assuring evil’s thorough demise. So take heart that God’s plan of redemption is in deliberative motion and its completion will be soon.
