“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” — Psalm 9:9 NIV

When the circumstances of life are battering against you like a ship on rough seas, the Lord is your sure stronghold. You can find a shelter in Him that is secure, safe, and peaceful despite the storms that rage on the outside. You can come to Him wet and worn out, you can come to Him tired and without hope, you can come to Him however your trials have battered, but by all means come to Him and find your redemption in the Lord.

It may hurt to find out that those you thought cared are no where to be found. People forgot, people forsake, people can come up with a thousand excuses as to why they can’t be there for you, but the Lord does not forgot us nor will He forsake us. In times of troubles when we need reprieve from our sorrows, only the Lord can be trusted to be there for us.

If you are in trouble, turn to Him in prayer. If you are free of troubles walk with Him now so you know He’s there then. Don’t neglect communing with your Savior through prayer and Bible study in the good times because it will put you close to Him when troubles arise.
