I was amused by something I heard on a radio newscast today. A politician commenting negatively about the many states passing heartbeat bills, referred to it as being “a cluster of fetal pulsation.”

A cluster of fetal pulsation?

We should not be surprised at such silly redefining of reality in order to avoid truth, because we’ve seen it with marriage and gender. Pro-death politicians are doing Satan’s bidding by spinning word meanings, redefining terms, and hiding truth.

When Satan was expelled from Heaven he deceived a third of the holy angels, likely by hiding his real intent to rise above God (Revelation 12:4).

When Satan appeared to Eve in the Garden of Eden he deceived her by hiding is true identity in the cloak of a serpent (Genesis 3:1; 1 Timothy 2:14; Revelation 12:9).

When Satan led the Lord into the wilderness to be tempted he hid his motive to cause Jesus to fall in sin by promising the kingdoms of the world (Matthew 4:9).

We see from 2 Corinthians 11:14 that Satan “disguises himself as an angel of light” and hides the truth of who he is and what his motives are.

Let’s just know these things and realize we can’t always trust our eyes or our ears when it comes to the work of the Deceiver. It should be no surprise that mortal sinful man would join Satan by spinning word meanings, redefining terms, and hiding truth.

No wonder Jesus warned us, “Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil” (Matthew 5:37; ESV).
